Prebiotics are indigestible food ingredients like dietary fiber that stimulate growth of good bacteria in the intestine to improve functions in the GI tract.
Prebiotics (good bacteria promoters) and probiotics (good bacteria) work together synergistically. Products that combine together are called synbiotics.
